Heard them playing this tune as an opening number during a concert in 1979 when Ella Fitzgerald joined for the second half later. Sitting in the first row right in front of the orchestra I felt like blown away. This was a real road band, some of the musicians looked grumpy, old and tired entering the stage, but as soon the band started to play them all fired up and were at the top of their game. These were exciting times when every year concert posters were plastered all over the city announcing that giants like Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Miles Davis, Dexter Gordon, Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton and so many more were coming to town.
Count Basie Orchestra- Tenor Sax for decades: Eric Dixon from Halifax, N.S., Canada- Count with Ann Murray, also from Nova Scotia, Canada, I played with both. Ann in my teens band in Springhill, and Eric, when we got together to jam with Bucky Adams ca 1958/9? Fantastic!

Thanks Trombonolgy. I was looking for those soloists, Don Byas not Lester Young and Dicky Wells

A melodia que o conjunto de Count Basie interpreta, embora sob o estilo Jazz, fez dele o melhor intérprete da música
