He feels the burden of having to be her cornerstone, meaning he has to be the one who is strong for her , but it is meant to be the type of strength that keeps her tethered to the world. He provides an existential strength to her— one that she does not have on her own. He can’t sustain this role for her, can’t be her strength or her “cornerstone” because life has beaten him down to the point where he has no will to live himself— “I don’t want to keep holdin’ on” He knows this will devastate her, and yet he is angry at the same time at her “watch her roll” refers to “stop, drop and roll”. She is going to feel his despair, his desire for death, and it might kill her but he’s got a casual attitude toward it. He is in a state of existential death and so is he. It will kill both of them but he’s lost his will but he’s relieved at the same time “all the darkness slowly seeping from the bones”. He’s relieved to not have to carry the burden of being the cornerstone.
At Dusk, driving on the motorway, windows down, winds messing my hair, this song on full volume, singing at the top of my lungs. LIFE. Real music. KOL rocks!
I remember when I first heard this song while in the backseat on a highway, The disarming hypnosis of the intrumentals combined with the hypnotic nature of staring at a highway plus the headlights of the oncoming traffic to the side buzzing past just put chills through my whole body. I would listen to this over and over and over and those chills would not go away, But years later the song doesnt seen to do that to me anymore, Guess its an effect of growing up, But I can still feel it in my memory, God damn it was undescribable.

This is a record that is made once in a career. Definitely my favorite KOL song. Pure artistry, both musically and visually.
